Skip to contentGwidon Adam Miklaszewski (born August 24, 1912 in Berlin, died November 20, 1999 in Warsaw) – Polish cartoonist-humorist, author of book illustrations, animated films, advertisements. Graduated from the Ignacy Jan Paderewski State Mensch Gymnasium for the Humanities in Poznan (1931)[2]. He studied economics and law at the University of Poznan, graduating in 1934. During his studies in 1932, he made his debut as a cartoonist in the magazine Ilustracja Polska. During World War II he was in hiding in Cracow and Nowy Targ, and in 1947 settled in Katowice, where he drew for “Dziennik Zachodni”. In 1960 he participated in the creation of animated films.
He worked with daily and weekly newspapers:
where from 1948 to 1982 he published a drawing series “Nasza Syrenka” (eight thousand drawings)
The series Our Mermaid were drawings of everyday life telling the story of a typical woman living in Warsaw .
In 1985 Miklaszewski gets the Order of the Smile . That is, a decoration that is awarded by children.
