Bio

Izabela Kowalska-Wieczorek was born in 1955 in Toruń. In 1975-80 she studied at the Faculty of Painting, Graphics and Sculpture at the Academy of Fine Arts in Wroclaw. In 1980 she defended her diploma in graphic design. For more than 30 years she was involved in children’s illustration. She has worked with many publishing houses including the Szczecin Globe and Warsaw: KIW, KAW, Granna, Ludowa Spółdzielnia Wydawnicza, ZOWAG, etc. and in 1993- 2016 on an exclusive basis with the “Children’s Foundation”. His works include 40 books and 26 multi-planned calendars. Since 2013, she has been creating satirical drawings. She has had solo exhibitions and participated in many exhibitions and international competitions. She has won more than 120 prizes and awards in international satirical drawing competitions (29 x Grand Prix and 1st prizes). She has been a juror 37 times in international competitions in India, Portugal, Egypt, Colombia, Iran, Turkey, Romania, Morocco, Brazil, Syria, Nepal, Iraq, Poland, Chile and Croatia, among others.
